BiographyHi, I am Guangying Chen (陈光颖). Welcome to my website! I am currently on the 2024-2025 job market.
I am a Ph.D. candidate in Quantitative Marketing at Olin Business School, Washington University in St. Louis, advised by Professor Tat Y. Chan and Professor Dennis J. Zhang. Prior to Wash U, I earned an M.A. in Economics from Tsinghua University and a B.A. in Economics, along with a B.S. in Statistics, from Peking University. My research primarily focuses on two areas. The first examines the interactions between recommender systems and social media user behavior—specifically content consumption, production, and privacy protection—using field experiments and structural models. The second applies statistical and machine learning approaches to develop novel causal inference methods addressing identification challenges in business research, such as instrumental variable estimation in randomized encouragement designs when the exclusion restriction is violated. |
